Grinder
Shift: 2nd Shift 3:30pm – 1:30am (M-TH) - will train on 1st
Summary
We are seeking a Grinder to support industrial manufacturing operations by grinding and finishing castings, forgings, and weldments using handheld grinders and abrasive tools. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for this position, paid in installments throughout the first year of employment.
Job Responsibilities
Operate handheld grinders weighing between 3–16 lbs. to remove excess metal and finish parts to specification
Grind and finish castings, forgings, fabrications, and weldments according to written and verbal instructions
Reposition parts and materials as needed to complete grinding operations effectively
Perform grinding in various positions, including inside and outside surfaces of parts
Read and follow blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work instructions
Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hand trucks, scales, and banding equipment safely
Verify part and document information for accuracy
Record production and inspection information as required
Serialize parts using stamping tools or vibro-tools
Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including respirator requirements when necessary
Requirements
High school diploma preferred
Previous experience in an industrial, mechanical, welding, machining, or manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to safely use handheld grinders and related power tools
Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift over 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in an industrial environment with dust, metal debris, and moderate noise levels
