Job Description:
The first shift Kettle Polisher will perform a wide variety of polishing operations to obtain specified finish or polish and luster to fabrications and parts from sheet metal, stainless and other materials. Involves set ups and operation of tools and equipment to remove excess material or burrs from surfaces to buff or polish metal while observing safety, housekeeping and quality management procedures. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, plan work and support the organization through individual contribution and teamwork environment. May require overtime.
Operate finishing tools to obtain desired finish without impacting product performance and visual aesthetic
Perform visual inspection of product to ensure removal of blemish, debris, etc.
Work within a team environment to meet production schedule
Perform tasks following quality and safety practices and procedures
Will frequently stand, stoop, lift and utilize material handling equipment to move up to 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years metal finishing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read, write and possess basic math skills
Understanding of polishing wheels and selection of abrasives best suited for type of material and finish requirements
Ability to operate overhead hoists and lifting equipment.
Ability to lift or move average to heavy weight material in difficult work positions.
Prolonged periods of standing/sitting and performing repetitive tasks
Periods of working in hot/cold manufacturing environment
Compensation Information:
Starts at $21.87 @ hour and after 6 months, tops out at $27.34 @ hour.
