Join us in our mission to improve health and improve lives._ PAML a Labcorp company is seeking a **Grossing Technician** to join our team in Tukwila, WA **Work Schedule:** Monday - Friday 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm overtime and rotating weekends may be required **Job Responsibilities** + Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria + Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures + Perform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides + Specialize in the accurate gross description and dissection of surgical specimens + Diagram pertinent gross specimens as necessary + Prepare sections of human tissue for pathologist diagnostic study + Operate laboratory instruments to properly display specimens + Perform equipment maintenance as needed + Record equipment log data in an accurate and timely manner + Comply with applicable safety procedures and protocol + Effectively communicate with histology team members **Minimum Qualifications** + Associate's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology + ASCP or AMT certification **Preferred Qualifications** + 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience + 3 months or more of grossing experience **Additional Job Standards** + In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements + Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures + Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment + Ability to work independently and within a team environment + Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems + High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills + Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position + Able to pass a standardized color blindness test + Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs At PAML a Labcorp company we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
