Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of City streets and sidewalks utilizing a pressure washer and other equipment.

Examples of Duties:

• Pressure washes sidewalks in the central business district during the morning hours.
• Drives a City vehicle and pulls a pressure washer trailer in downtown areas.
• Sweeps and cleans streets, sidewalks, and gutters using a rubbish collection cart, shovel and push broom.
• Removes debris and dirt from sewer grates and catch basins.
• When necessary, shovels snow and sand.
• When necessary, cleans litter from vacant lots around the city.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid South Carolina Driver's License.
• Employees in this position are required to work and walk outdoors in downtown Charleston
• You must be available to work the following shift
• Mon. - Fri. 4am-12pm
