Job Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of City streets and sidewalks utilizing a pressure washer and other equipment.
Examples of Duties:
- Pressure washes sidewalks in the central business district during the morning hours.
- Drives a City vehicle and pulls a pressure washer trailer in downtown areas.
- Sweeps and cleans streets, sidewalks, and gutters using a rubbish collection cart, shovel and push broom.
- Removes debris and dirt from sewer grates and catch basins.
- When necessary, shovels snow and sand.
- When necessary, cleans litter from vacant lots around the city.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid South Carolina Driver's License.
- Employees in this position are required to work and walk outdoors in downtown Charleston
- You must be available to work the following shift
- Mon. - Fri. 4am-12pm
