Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Groundskeeper - Facilities. Work is performed under the direction of the Facilities Technical Coordinator. A Groundskeepers is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining the exterior of facilities bymowing and edging lawns, and transplanting, cutting and trimming trees, shrubs and ground cover. Primary Functions Appling herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers and other chemicals. Installing and maintaining irrigation systems by making necessary repairs to electrical wiring and plumbing and programming digital controllers. Performing maintenance duties by operating heavy equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, as well as tractor-mounted trenchers, tillers, and sprayers. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must have level of education equivalent to four years of high school. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Class C Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Previous experience with various forms of lawn equipment such as weed-eaters is preferred. Candidates must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical (POPP), a Functional Physical Capacity Assessment (FPCA), a drug screen, and a background check, when required. Must be able to pass physical fitness test to be eligible for hire.
