Position Summary

The Landscape Maintenance Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily field operations for up to five landscape maintenance crews. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards while maintaining strong customer relationships. The Field Supervisor plays a key leadership role in production management, employee training and development, quality control, and identifying opportunities for additional services.

Key Responsibilities

Crew Leadership & Supervision
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of landscape maintenance crews
  • Provide clear direction, expectations, and job assignments to crew leaders and team members
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and overall crew performance
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and team‑oriented work environment
Production & Efficiency Management
  • Ensure crews meet or exceed production goals and budgeted labor hours
  • Track job progress and make real‑time adjustments to improve efficiency
  • Identify workflow improvements, equipment needs, and process enhancements
  • Communicate schedule changes and priorities to crews and management
Employee Training & Development
  • Train new and existing employees on proper landscape maintenance techniques, safety procedures, and company standards
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
  • Conduct job site demonstrations and skill development training
  • Assist with performance evaluations and advancement recommendations
Coaching & Discipline
  • Address performance issues promptly and professionally
  • Implement progressive discipline when necessary in coordination with management
  • Reinforce company policies, safety standards, and behavioral expectations
Quality Control
  • Conduct routine job site inspections to ensure high‑quality workmanship
  • Verify that all work meets company specifications and customer expectations
  • Correct deficiencies and provide on‑site coaching to crews
Customer Communication & Upselling
  • Serve as a primary field contact for customers
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and service requests professionally
  • Identify opportunities to upsell enhancements, additional services, or improvements
  • Communicate sales leads and project opportunities to the sales or management team
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce all company safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure crews use equipment properly and maintain safe job sites
  • Report accidents, incidents, and equipment issues promptly
