Grounds Maintenance Technician (Landscaping)

About the Position

Saar Management LLC is seeking a reliable Grounds Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and appearance of our Jacksonville apartment communities. This position is primarily outdoors and is responsible for routine turf care, landscape maintenance, and maintaining clean and attractive common areas throughout assigned properties.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with commercial landscaping equipment, particularly zero-turn mowers, and takes pride in completing outdoor maintenance work safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Mow and maintain turf using a zero-turn commercial mower.
• Trim grass and vegetation around buildings, sidewalks, curbs, and other landscaped areas.
• Perform edging, hedge trimming, and general landscape maintenance.
• Operate string trimmers, edgers, hedge trimmers, backpack blowers, and pole saws.
• Follow established maintenance schedules for assigned apartment communities.
• Perform routine inspections of landscaping equipment and report mechanical or safety concerns.
• Keep equipment, work areas, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Safely handle, transport, and store gasoline and landscaping equipment.
• Assist with seasonal grounds projects, landscaping improvements, and property beautification.
• Identify and report landscaping, property, or safety issues to management.
• Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards.
• Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous zero-turn mower experience is required.
• Prior experience in landscaping, lawn care, grounds maintenance, or turf care is preferred.
• Familiarity with commercial gas-powered landscaping equipment is preferred.
• Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Comfortable working outside in varying weather conditions.
• Able to regularly perform physical work and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Dependable, punctual, and capable of working with limited supervision.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Credential

• FDACS Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance (LCLM) License preferred.

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday through Friday
• Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.
