POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Parks Manager, the Grounds Maintenance Worker I maintains grounds of parks, facilities, streetscapes and other City properties. Performs basic skill duties including repair and maintenance of irrigation systems and other equipment. Works with others, including volunteers, and community service workers to compete work detail.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly exposed to weather conditions, including rain, snow, humidity, sun, hot and cold temperatures. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee may be work near or with fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment may reach moderately noisy in field settings and require hearing protection The employee works in public spaces and frequently interacts with people.
