Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Boundary Line Maintenance Worker to join our team. This entry-level position involves maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the grounds and outdoor facilities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, physically fit, and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Grounds Maintenance Duties
Perform mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing of grass and landscaped areas
Conduct weed control and vegetation removal (manual and chemical applications under supervision)
Assist with pruning shrubs, hedges, and small trees
Remove trash, debris, and organic waste from work areas
Support seasonal services such as fertilization, leaf removal, and storm debris cleanup
Equipment Operation & Care
Operate basic landscaping equipment:
String trimmers (weed eaters)
Backpack blowers
Push mowers / ride-on mowers (training provided)
Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance (fueling, cleaning, inspection)
Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment immediately
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety procedures in accordance with company policies and EM 385-1-1 standards
Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Maintain awareness of surroundings including terrain, weather, and hazards
Participate in safety briefings and on-the-job training
Work Environment
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, uneven terrain)
May involve walking long distances, lifting equipment, and working on slopes or near water
Work is often performed on federal sites requiring adherence to strict guidelines and professionalism
Minimum Qualifications
No prior experience required (entry-level position)
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Reliable transportation to job sites or designated meeting locations
Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods (lifting up to 50 lbs)
Willingness to learn landscaping skills and safety procedures
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
Previous landscaping or labor experience
Experience with lawn care equipment
Valid driver’s license
Interest in certifications (e.g., pesticide applicator, arborist training)
Physical Requirements
Lift and carry 50+ lbs repeatedly
Walk long distances on uneven terrain
Bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods (8–10 hours/day)
Work in varying weather conditions
Schedule:
Full-time or part-time hours available.
