The Grounds Technician ensures safety, cleanliness, and operability of park grounds and facilities. This includes performing the full range of grounds maintenance: rakes, edges and trims lawns, trims trees, waters and weeds shrub and flower beds and assists at City-sponsored events when needed. This position operates power edgers, and other small grounds maintenance equipment; monitors irrigation systems. Operates various sprayers to apply chemicals for the control of weeds; uses knowledge of fertilizer formulations for use in spreaders and or other proper fertilizer applicators. This position is responsible for daily maintenance of restrooms; litter pick-up; paints, and performs minor repairs on facilities, equipment, park furnishings and amenities.
