What you'll be doing:
- Plant & Flower Care: Watering, deadheading, weeding flower beds and containers.
- Lawn & Vegetation Maintenance: Mowing, raking, watering, fertilizing lawns; caring for trees, shrubs, and other plants.
- Pruning & Trimming: Trimming and pruning bushes and trees.
- Weed Control: General weeding and applying herbicides/insecticides/fertilizers as needed.
- Irrigation Support: Assisting with repairs, timers, pipes, pumps, and valves.
- Other tasks: As assigned, including coordinating with other employees and event schedules.
Equipment You'll Use
- Mowers (riding and push), aerators, verticutters, string trimmers, edgers, tillers, hand tools.
- Vehicles: Trucks, ATVs, tractors, front-end loaders, forklifts.
- Irrigation tools: Timers, pipe risers, pumps, valves.
You'll need to get certified in ATV, forklift, and heavy equipment operation.
What you'll need to do the job:
Required:
- Basic knowledge of yard care equipment.
- Ability to use hand tools (rakes, shovels, trimmers, etc.) for hours at a time.
- Comfort working outdoors in various mountain weather conditions for long periods.
- Capable of lifting/carrying at least 50 lbs.
- Availability to work some weekends/holidays
Preferred (but not required):
- Background in lawn/turf care.
- Experience with flowers, trees, or plants.
- Irrigation system knowledge and repair.
- Safety Focus: Wear proper PPE, follow safety protocols, use proper lifting techniques, and maintain equipment safely.
- Physical Demands: Very physical — extended time outdoors, lifting 50+ lbs, repetitive tool use, bending, standing, etc. Mountain weather can include heat, cold, wind, or rain.
