Groundskeeper Salary $46,259.20 - $58,988.80 Annually Location 455 Infirmary Rd, OH Job Type Full-time Regular Job Number 05950 Department AS - Facilities Opening Date 03/27/2026 Internal Only No Description Benefits Position Overview Full performance level in the groundskeeping occupation requiring considerable knowledge of grounds maintenance tools and techniques; under direction, performs skilled and semi-skilled grounds maintenance functions; landscapes grounds; maintains outdoor sports facilities; operates and maintains groundskeeping equipment. Summary of Job Duties May perform some or all of these duties or other job-related duties as assigned at one or more County location. Work assignments will require travel to various County locations. Performs skilled and semi-skilled grounds maintenance functions (e.g., maintain site landscaping, lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf and irrigation; utilize insecticides, herbicides, and fertilizers for lawns, trees, flowers and shrubs, and spread mulch; trim trees, hedges and shrubs, and prevent and eliminate weeds; conduct basic irrigation audit and perform basic irrigation programming and repairs). Maintains and repairs outdoor sports facilities (e.g., athletic fields, tennis courts, ball diamonds). Performs routine grounds maintenance and general labor (e.g., grass mowing; snow removal and ice control; weed and clean lawns and flower beds; maintain parking lots, streets, right of ways; clean restrooms; keep grounds free from trash, litter and debris; empty trash receptacles; perform minor building construction). Operates and maintains groundskeeping equipment (e.g., operate, maintain, and repair groundskeeping equipment; clean and repair hand and power tools, mowers, backhoe, tractor, seeder). Maintains and repairs play equipment. Assists other staff when needed. Assists with special projects (e.g., landscaping, pothole repair, construction projects, painting). Performs basic computer skills (e.g., respond to emails, enter work requests, update and close work orders). May provide work direction. Perform related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements Equivalent to High School diploma. Two (2) years of experience in grounds maintenance preferred; OR alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Requirements. Supplemental Information Must have current valid drivers license with acceptable driving record. Must obtain a Public Operator Pesticide Applicator License Core, 8 Turf Pest Control within one (1) year of date of hire. Seasonal Employees: Benefits include Sick Leave accrued at 4.6 hours for every eighty 80 hours in active pay status. Seasonal employees scheduled to work 40 hours during their period of employment will accrue vacation in the same manner as regular full-time employees and can use their vacation after completion of twenty-six (26) bi-weekly pay periods in active pay status. Part-time Seasonal employees (scheduled to work less than 40 hours) do not accrue vacation. Intermittent and Temporary Employees: Long-Term Sick Leave accrual is based on hours worked.
