Overview:
Job Opening: Groundskeeper, Full Time, Temporary/Seasonal role from June 1 to September 1.
Day hours M-F. 80 hours per 2 week pay period. Looking for immediate start.
Location: NE Minneapolis
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN GROUNDSKEEPING, Landscaping, or similar.
The Groundskeeper maintains the building exterior and all grounds and landscaping of Catholic Eldercare facilities. In addition, they will maintain small landscaping tools and engines and back up the internal maintenance team.
The successful candidate will work full-time, in-person, with at least 90% of the time working outside in the elements. The groundskeeper is on-call when snow or storm cleanup may be needed and on rotation with other maintenance staff.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- Assist with mowing and trimming yards of facilities using riding and push gas mowers and gas trimmers.
- Assist with Planting annual and perennial trees, shrubs, and flowers and ensure ongoing growth and cultivation.
- Assist with Weed and address application of needed applications/treatments for healthy lawns and grounds.

- Assist with Ensuring irrigation system is in working order and make any adjustments or corrections needed.
- Assist with Operating and maintaining equipment needed to perform exterior work in all seasons.
- Control and prevent external pest and waste issues.
- Respond to and resolve exterior work orders in a timely manner as assigned.
- May assist with inside building work as assigned
- Other duties as needed to contribute to the Maintenance Team.

Requirements:
- One year or more of groundskeeping or landscaping experience preferred.
- Must have intermediate to advanced skills in written and spoken English.
- Must be able to pass NetStudy background check.

Job Information: Salary range, $21-23 per hour. Non-exempt position. This position is eligible for PTO accrual.
Work Environment:
- The work environment is often very noisy. Ear protection is provided but may not mitigate all noise.
- Smoke, steam, fumes from gasoline engines are all potential odors found in the workplace. Protective and safety equipment is provided to protect workers.
- The employee works outside 80-95% of their work hours, with exposure to all weather conditions.
