Groundskeeper/Dayporter 

Location: LaSalle Park Homes & William C. Ellison communities (South Bend, IN)

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM ET 

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on person to help keep two South Bend apartment communities clean, welcoming, and well maintained.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys staying active, working outdoors, solving everyday problems, and seeing the results of their work. You do not need extensive apartment maintenance experience. We are looking for someone who shows up consistently, works safely, treats residents and coworkers with respect, and takes pride in doing the job well.

What You'll Do

Your day may include:

• Picking up litter and keeping the grounds, sidewalks, parking areas, and building entrances clean
• Cleaning hallways, laundry rooms, lobbies, and other shared spaces
• Helping with trash removal and maintaining trash enclosures
• Completing seasonal outdoor work, including leaf removal, landscaping, and snow and ice removal
• Assisting the maintenance team with painting, apartment preparation, minor repairs, and property improvement projects
• Using basic equipment such as drills, blowers, and weed trimmers
• Identifying and reporting maintenance or safety concerns
• Helping residents by contributing to a clean, safe, and welcoming community

• Can work independently and stay productive without constant supervision
• Treat people from all backgrounds with patience and respect
• Are willing to help wherever needed when priorities change
• Can safely lift up to 50 pounds and regularly stand, walk, bend, and reach
• Have custodial, janitorial, landscaping, construction, groundskeeping, or basic maintenance experience—or are willing to learn
