Groundskeeper

Position Summary

This position keeps the district''s buildings and grounds in such a state of operating excellence as to present no problems or interruptions to the educational program. This position has responsibility for routine care of the grounds (snow removal, grass cutting, tree and shrub pruning, leaf collection and disposal). The position performs general maintenance tasks inside and outside the buildings. This position also supports the custodial operations within the MPSD facilities when necessary. All assigned duties are completed under the supervision of the Director of Building and Grounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance requiring some degree of skill and ability in handling common tools and equipment for the performance of the assigned repairs.
• Perform site maintenance duties including, but not limited to the following, lawn mowing, trimming, raking leaves, planting and/or trimming shrubs and trees, snow removal, preparation of athletic fields
• Perform custodial support as assigned for building operations throughout the MPSD facilities.
• Maintains and keeps current on all assigned employee safety training requirements and complies with State, local, and Board of Education guidelines.
• Utilize basic computer programs for email, absence management and maintenance work orders.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
