We are seeking a motivated and energetic Groundskeeper to join our dynamic team dedicated to maintaining school buildings and grounds to ensure district facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role includes operating and maintaining grounds equipment and performing a wide range of maintenance tasks across improved and unimproved areas, including playgrounds, irrigation systems, athletic fields, fencing, paving, concrete, and snow removal.
What You'll Do:
• Responsible for snow removal and lawn care equipment, including fueling, maintenance and repairs. • Operate and perform maintenance/repairs annually and as needed on a wide variety of landscape equipment, including but not limited to pressure washers, chainsaws, pole saws, hedgers, string trimmers and blowers. • Maintain electronic files of work performed on all equipment. • Operate and transport heavy equipment, including tractors with loaders, dump trucks, aerators, small and large area mowers and pick-up trucks pulling heavy equipment trailers. • Perform weekly grounds safety and vandalism checks. • Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems. • Perform tree and shrub maintenance. • Perform small asphalt patching and crack sealing projects. • Perform the maintenance of painted curbs and parking lot markings. • Perform playground equipment inspection, repair, and maintenance including the delivery and spreading of fall zone material for playground safety. • Prepare athletic fields including but not limited to game markings and dragging fields. • Perform the installation and maintenance of cyclone fencing and gates. • Weld and repair grounds equipment. • Perform district-wide snow removal utilizing provided equipment including truck-mounted snow blades and snow blowers/throwers. • Supply building custodial staff with salt for snow removal. • Respond to emergency situations during and after hours. • Maintain, organize, and clean the district's maintenance areas. • Assist facilities maintenance staff as needed. • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
