Nashua, NH (Rivier University) | $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Groundskeeping Supervisor to lead the grounds maintenance team at Rivier University in Nashua, NH. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee daily grounds operations, supervise a team of Groundskeepers, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure the campus remains safe, clean, and visually appealing year-round. Responsibilities include assigning work, inspecting completed projects, supporting irrigation and landscape maintenance, and planning for seasonal needs such as snow removal. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, facilities maintenance, or outdoor maintenance supervision who enjoy leading teams and working in a campus environment. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with flexibility required for weather-related events and snow operations. The grounds department has a highly visible impact on the student, faculty, and visitor experience, making this a critical role within the university community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of approximately four Groundskeepers and oversee daily work assignments.
  • Coordinate and monitor grounds-related subcontractors to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Conduct daily inspections of completed work and identify service gaps or operational needs.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance activities as needed, including mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, and seasonal cleanup.
  • Support irrigation system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Plan and coordinate snow removal activities, staffing, equipment readiness, and contractor support.
  • Inspect campus grounds regularly to identify safety concerns, maintenance needs, or landscaping improvements.
  • Ensure grounds operations meet client expectations and contractual requirements.
  • Train, coach, and develop employees while addressing performance and disciplinary matters when necessary.
  • Operate and oversee the use of groundskeeping equipment, lawn mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and related tools.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials as needed.
  • Utilize Microsoft Outlook and inspection reporting systems to communicate updates and track operational performance.
  • Collaborate with university stakeholders and Aramark leadership to maintain a high-quality campus environment.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, horticulture, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or directing employees in an outdoor maintenance environment.
  • Working knowledge of irrigation systems, grounds maintenance practices, and landscape equipment.
  • Experience operating and maintaining lawn and groundskeeping equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer technology.
  • Ability to review inspection reports and communicate operational updates.
  • Experience managing employee performance, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
  • Availability to work Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM, with flexibility for weather-related events and snow removal operations.

Preferred

  • Previous supervisory experience leading grounds or landscape crews.
  • Experience working in a university, campus, healthcare, or large commercial property environment.
  • Knowledge of seasonal landscape planning and snow management operations.
  • Experience coordinating contractors or vendor relationships.
