Group Summary:

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Group Controller is responsible for the overseeing the financial operations of the Exteriors North American divisions. This includes forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and operational performance oversight.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review the month end financial results of the North American divisions. This includes having a full understanding of the root causes of any variances and related corrective actions being taken by the divisions. The results then need to be summarized and reviewed in detail with the Exteriors executive management team.
  • Review and approve all weekly, quarterly, and yearly forecasts/budgets for the North American divisions. This includes having a full understanding of the root causes of any variances and related corrective actions being taken by the divisions. The forecasts/budgets are then consolidated into a North American group presentation given to the Exteriors executive management team.
  • Review and approval all Business quotations request requests submitted by the divisions. This includes validating the costing, capital, ED&D and other investments are reasonable.
  • Create business cases to optimize the financial performance of the North American Exteriors operations.
  • Review and approve all capital requests submitted by the divisions.
  • Support the closure of the divisions open commercial issues.
  • Actively manage and support the improvement of underperforming divisions.
  • Review and approve the divisions controller model files. (Annual financial audit)
  • Support the closure in internal audit findings at the divisions.
  • Other analysis as required

Education/Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (accounting designation preferred).
  • Must have the ability to understand manufacturing operations and their impacts to the financial statements.
  • Must be able to create business cases that drive financial improvements based upon their knowledge of operations.
  • Strong degree of initiative and judgment
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills along with a strong sense of time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while under pressure of deadlines and provide a high degree of accuracy.
