This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to directly lead group exercise classes to meet the fitness interests and needs of the participants at Del Mar College.

Opportunities may include activities such as, but not limited to Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Strength Training, Step, Kickboxing, Interval Training, Water Exercise or Thai Chi.

Minimum Qualifications

Some disciplines require current certification from a recognized organization (documentation of current certification is required prior to first day of employment).

Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification (documentation of current certification is required prior to first day of employment).

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Ability to lead others in fitness activities such as, but not limited to Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Strength Training, Step, Kickboxing, Interval Training, Water Exercise or Thai Chi.

Ability to create an inclusive, welcoming environment and adapt activities to meet the needs of the individual.

Ability to establish a positive rapport and relationship with employees.

Ability to provide a safe environment.

Preferred Qualifications

One year teaching/leading group exercise/fitness activities.
