Job Title: Group Fitness Instructor
This position is responsible for: Instruct group fitness classes to all ages and levels. Design instructional programs and demonstrate proper techniques and styling to all levels of participants. Participate in employee training/meetings and other occasional Kroc Center Fitness Department programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct with sound principles and expert skills in the area of group fitness classes. • Provide individual guidelines for development in the area of group fitness classes. • Critique and give feedback to participants regarding individual progress. • Attend regular meetings to ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures. • Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift and carry 40lbs. Meet all health and safety regulations as defined by the Health Department as well as The Salvation Army. Must be in good physical and mental health, capable of meeting the demands of the gymnasium and athletic field programs.
Education and Experience:
Two years of experience in instruction of group fitness classes. Must successfully complete the Safe from Harm Child Abuse training as established by The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Have a Philosophy of education and child development, which is consistent with that of the Center and The Salvation Army. Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving.
Certifications:
Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aide certification within first 30 days of employment.
