Job Purpose

Leads the regional Retirement Operations team to deliver accurate, compliant, and efficient administration of retirement programs while supporting a high-quality associate experience and strong business outcomes. Oversees the day-to-day admnistration of 401(K), nonqualified plans, pension, and stock programs acriss tge region. Ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, timely filings and communications, effective vendor performance, and sound support for plan governance, budgeting, and investment monitoring.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversees administration of 401(k), nonqualified, pension, and stock purchase plans across the region to ensure accuracy, compliance, service quality, and cost effectiveness. Ensures required filings, disclosures, and participant communications are completed accurately and on time. Supports plan investment monitoring, forecasting, budgeting, and fiduciary governance activities, including oversight of foundation assets as applicable
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, consultants, and governance partners. Maximizes vendor capabilities, monitors service delivery, and holds providers accountable to contractual obligations and performance standards
  • Partners with stakeholders such as Total Rewards Strategy, plan committees, Finance, Legal, HR Technology, and external providers to evaluate plan operations and design, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop recommendations for changes to programs, processes, investments, and systems
  • Leads and develops team members by setting clear expectations, providing coaching and feedback, assigning work effectively, and maintaining accountability for performance, service, and compliance. Fosters an environment where team members can raise issues, share ideas, and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Makes sound operational decisions with limited direction on plan administration, compliance, participant issues, and systems. Uses data, controls, and process discipline to identify risks, improve service delivery, and implement sustainable process improvements across the region
  • Aligns team priorities and decisions with regional and organizational strategy, and applies sound judgment to determine when proposed changes support broader business, compliance, and associate needs

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Four year degree is required
  • Typically requires 7-10 years of progressive experience in retirement operations, benefits administration, or total rewards, including people leadership or demonstrated team lead responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, and administrative practices related to 401(k), nonqualified, pension, and stock purchase plans
  • Working knowledge of retirement plan investments, fiduciary concepts, and governance processes
  • Strong understanding of plan design and operational implications for both qualified and nonqualified retirement programs
  • Experience working with HR, payroll, recordkeeping, and vendor systems, including data integrity and process integration considerations
  • Experience with cost forecasting, budgeting, and vendor or plan financial management
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across a regional or matrixed organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, explain complex topics clearly, and build alignment with stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, leaders, vendors, and partners at multiple organizational levels
  • Strong problem-solving, judgment, and conflict management skills
