Job Summary:
There is an urgent need at our client's Scarborough, Maine facility for a Group Lead to support current HIV and TB production volumes, help recover backorders, and maintain supply continuity through 2026 2027. This role can start as soon as all background check/drug test (BGC/DT) requirements have cleared. Initial assignment end date is 3/31/2027, with potential to extend.
Shift Details:
Position is currently on 2nd shift; new hires will train on 1st shift for the first week before transitioning to 2nd shift.
There is a strong likelihood the schedule will shift to a 12/24 rotation (4 days on/3 days off, then 3 days on/4 days off, 12-hour shifts). A 4x10 schedule (Mon Thurs, 10-hour shifts) is also a possibility.
Candidates must be flexible and prepared to accommodate schedule changes as a condition of accepting this role.
Job Duties:
Coordinate production activity in assigned work areas, ensuring product is continuously processed per build schedules.
Communicate work instructions to personnel in designated areas in line with supervisory objectives.
Ensure quality and production goals are consistently met.
Conduct regular process and quality performance audits of personnel, tooling, and equipment.
Report equipment failures to the supervisor or other appropriate contacts.
Track work-in-process inventory status and daily output quantities for assigned areas.
Provide direct training to area operators as needed, along with feedback and re-training support related to defects.
Assist in expediting priority products and tasks within assigned areas.
Perform inspections and determine disposition of rejected components per documented procedures.
Perform direct manufacturing operations as needed to support build schedules.
Stay current on developments in relevant fields, regulatory requirements, and company products, markets, and industry trends.
Coordinate purchase requests for equipment and services.
Identify and resolve problems, including root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Lead daily meetings with manufacturing operators to support communication and continuous improvement.
Ensure preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration stickers remain current.
Conduct 5S audits and participate in weekly meetings with other area value stream group leads.
