    Job Description

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.
    • Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
    • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
    • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
    • Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
    • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
    • Participate in the training, developing and evaluating of hourly team members
    • Participate in the development of highly effective teams
    • Lead Global Manufacturing Systems processes and serves as resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas
    • Meet or exceed production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements
    • Maintain awareness of quality standards, and communicates department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues
    • Build and maintains good working relationships with employees, union and management
    • Understand and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between the company and the union workers
    • Implement and follows systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues
    • Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping
    • Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods. Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training)
    • Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvementsCoach, teach, counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities

    REQUIREMENTS
    • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
    • Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
