Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.
Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
Participate in the training, developing and evaluating of hourly team members
Participate in the development of highly effective teams
Lead Global Manufacturing Systems processes and serves as resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas
Meet or exceed production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements
Maintain awareness of quality standards, and communicates department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues
Build and maintains good working relationships with employees, union and management
Understand and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between the company and the union workers
Implement and follows systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues
Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping
Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods. Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training)
Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvementsCoach, teach, counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
