Orlando Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Group Leader, Food & Nutrition Services to support the daily operations of patient and non‑patient food service areas. In this leadership role, you will help ensure high-quality service, smooth departmental workflow, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.

 Position Summary

The Group Leader assists the Food Service Supervisor and/or Manager with oversight of daily operations, ensuring quality standards are met across patient meal services, café operations, catering, and departmental workflow. This role supports scheduling, training, food preparation, and service coordination while maintaining compliance with Orlando Health policies and food safety regulations.

 Essential Functions

• Schedule and train staff; prepare cash reports and deposits.

• Compile patient menus, including special dietary needs.

• Set up and check patient tray lines; assist with opening and closing departmental operations.

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner; oversee catering and doctor’s lounge service.

• Communicate patient and non‑patient needs to staff, peers, and leadership.

• Maintain punctual, regular attendance in alignment with Orlando Health policies and federal standards.

• Ensure compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

 Other Related Functions

• Participate in monthly department QA/QI activities and required in‑services.

• Assist leadership in developing in‑services to improve quality and performance.

• Ensure proper portion control, tray delivery standards, and café service standards.

• Enforce foodborne illness prevention and sanitation requirements.

• Follow universal precautions as they apply to food services.

 Education & Training

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

 Licensure/Certification

• None required.

• Minimum 3 years previous food service experience.
