POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Group Leader sub supports the acting Site Director in facilitating activities and the operational logistics of a site for the School Age Child Care Program of the South Sound YMCA in the absence of another Group Leader as directed by the acting Site Director, Program Director and/or Sr. Program Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Be available for up to 3 shifts per week, and/or up to 12 shifts per month. A shift is considered 1 AM shift or 1 PM shift. Available shifts are dependent upon staff needs resulting in variability of hours offered.
Always monitor the whereabouts of Y-care children both inside and especially outside when playing in the open to meet safety standards and protocols.
Report and document all injuries, accidents, and incidents for Y-care youth and staff, and filing the appropriate reports related to behavior, injury, accidents, etc., and notify the acting Site Director immediately.
Implement and facilitate enrichment activities appropriately.
Maintains good YMCA relationships with children, parents/guardians, community and school staff.
Sees that all appropriate supplies required are available to run indoor and outdoor activities.
Reads and becomes familiar with licensing regulations; sees that the program meets all the requirements as set by the State; immediately report any problems to acting Site Director and assigned Program Director.
Turns in completed paperwork by required deadlines.
Attend required and appropriate trainings and staff meetings. The Y: We're for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Reads and follows the guidelines of the policy manual \Dresses in clean, neat clothing appropriate for indoor and outdoor educational and recreational activities; maintains a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, including personal hygiene, in accordance with standards set by the YMCA personnel policy.
Maintain site in accordance with school district standards by doing such custodial duties as necessary to leave the general space, restrooms, sinks, halls, playground in clean, orderly condition.
Maintain accurate time and attendance records through Paycom system.
Other duties as assigned.
LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Be 18 years of age
Education: Have or working towards completing a HS diploma or equivalent
Possess at least one year of experience working with children; volunteers; cooperate with school personnel in a positive, professional manner; maintain a facility in accordance with state licensing regulations and YMCA requirements; relate well to children and their families
Training: meet and maintain training standards set by the state of Washington as a childcare professional, including completion of 30-hour childcare basics training and 10 additional yearly hours
Complete required DCYF trainings within the first 7 days of employment
Pass background check through DCYF and SSYMCA
Provide proof of current TB and MMR vaccination/immunization records upon hire, must be completed within the first 7 days of employment and prior to first day of working with children.
