Position Summary - Pay Range - $80,000 - 110,000/Year
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue through proactive sales efforts across group, social, and transient segments. In a small hotel environment, this role is highly hands-on and manages the full sales cycle—from prospecting and contracting through execution and post-event follow-up—while collaborating closely with operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Essential Functions

- Must participate in all required hotel meetings and trainings.
- Drive revenue across group, social, and transient segments through proactive sales efforts.
- Solicit new business via outbound sales calls, site tours, networking, and local partnerships.
- Manage the full sales cycle from inquiry and contracting through execution and post-event follow-up.
- Respond to RFPs and inquiries promptly; negotiate rates and contract terms aligned with hotel strategy.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to generate repeat business and referrals.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and hotel operations to ensure seamless delivery.
- Prepare contracts, room blocks, resumes, and internal handoff documentation.
- Track sales activity, pipeline, and production in CRM systems.
- Monitor pace and performance; adjust strategies to meet revenue goals.
- Represent the hotel at community events, site visits, and client meetings.
- Maintain compliance with Hotel policies, standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operation of the hotel.
- Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a boutique or small hotel environment.
- Proven success managing group, social, and transient sales simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working independently in a hands-on role.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, PMS, and Microsoft Office.
- Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends for events or site visits.
Working Conditions and Schedule
- This position may require a balance of administrative work, on-property presence, site visits and local travel for sales calls.
- Requires flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
- Regular walking, standing, and movement throughout the property.
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
- Exposure to varying environmental conditions typical of hospitality operations (indoor/outdoor, noise, weather).
