Growth Engineer – Consumer AI Music App

Hand you a metric, full data access and the codebase. Can you move it?

A seed-funded AI music startup turns any recording into accurate sheet music and helps people learn to play it. 150k+ users in 150 countries, growing 60% a month without spending a dollar on marketing. Now they want an engineer to own the next phase of growth.

This is an engineering role, not a viral-marketing or paid-ads role. The CEO believes revenue can grow 20–50% without touching the product or the AI, just by testing systematically. Your work is a cycle: pick a metric (churn, say), dig into the data, talk to users, watch how the product is used, choose an intervention, build it, test it, measure, repeat. The goal for your first six months: roughly 20% extra month-over-month growth that traces directly back to your work.

What's rare, and what they want most: real UI/UX instinct that you implement yourself. Your experiments should feel crafted, not like something an LLM produced in one go.

What you'll do

• Drive the core business numbers through engineering
• Build and keep up a growth model covering the whole funnel, from acquisition to referral
• PLG: features that make sharing easy, referral and user-generated content programs, conversion moments inside the product, activation experiments
• Dashboards, experiments and reporting on the full funnel and on retention, including tracking how existing UGC and paid ads perform
• Lifecycle emails that fire on activation, milestones and churn risk; turning cohort drop-offs into product fixes
• Technical and programmatic SEO and AEO, such as auto-generated song pages and small games that pull in new users
• Web today, the more game-like mobile app over time

What you bring

• Solid engineering across frontend, backend and data. You build and ship.
• You can build product changes across the stack, and you're strongest on frontend and UI/UX
• Comfortable with experimentation, statistics, funnels and dashboards. AI-assisted, but you own the output.
• A love for consumer growth and analytics
• Persistence and curiosity matter more here than your years of experience
• Trustworthy and ethical with user data

Bonus points

• Growth experience in gaming, where relentless A/B testing is the norm
• Lifecycle tooling and programmatic SEO/AEO
• A real connection to music
