Job Title: GSRP Assistant Teacher (Pre-Kindergarten) - two positions avalible

School Year: 2026-2027

Location: Lakeview School District

Job Type: Full-time, School year, 10 months

Lakeview School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic GSRP Associate Teacher to join our early childhood team. The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan's state-funded Pre-Kindergarten program for four-year-old children. Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher and Director of Early Childhood Operations, you will help foster a safe, play-based, and developmentally appropriate learning environment to prepare our scholars for kindergarten.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Instruction: Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the daily curriculum, lesson plans, and both small and large group activities.
  • Child Assessment: Observe and document developmental milestones and learning progress using approved GSRP assessment tools.
  • Family Engagement: Assist with family events, and help facilitate required parent-teacher conferences and home visits.
  • Student Care: Promote self-help skills, proper hygiene, and the social-emotional growth of four-year-olds.
  • Classroom Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Licensing Compliance: Ensure all daily activities and procedures align with Michigan Child Care Licensing rules, school district policies, and GSRP grant requirements.
  • Professional Development: Maintain or exceed MiRegistry Annual Professional Development requirements per Great Start to Quality expectations.
  • Coaching: Participate and adhere to early learning coaching, data meetings, and instructional feedback.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education (Must meet one of the following criteria):

  • An Associate's degree (AA or AAS) or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.

  • OR a valid, current Child Development Pre-School Associate (CDA) Credential.

  • Experience: Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or educational setting is highly preferred.

  • Professionalism: Seeking qualified professional candidates with career minded goals and a nurturing personality in the field of Early Childhood Education.

  • Certifications: Valid CPR, First Aid certifications, Mandated Reporter, Bloodborne Pathogens training (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

  • Background Check: Ability to pass all state-mandated criminal history and comprehensive childcare background checks.
