Calling All Passionate Educators: Become a Primrose School of Novi GSRP Teacher!

The Lead GSRP Teacher at Primrose School of Novi plays a central role in creating a warm, engaging, and developmentally rich classroom environment for preschool children. You will lead instructional planning, ensure fidelity to GSRP requirements, partner closely with families, and foster a collaborative teaching team. The ideal candidate is passionate about early learning, skilled in intentional teaching practices, and committed to equity and high-quality outcomes for all children.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Plan and implement daily learning experiences aligned with GSRP standards and the approved curriculum (e.g., Creative Curriculum).
  • Use developmentally appropriate practices to support children’s cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development.
  • Maintain a well-organized, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports active learning.

Child Assessment & Documentation

  • Conduct ongoing child assessment using approved tools (e.g., TS Gold) and use data to individualize instruction.
  • Complete all required GSRP anecdotal notes and checkpoints within established timelines.
  • Prepare documentation for home visits, conferences, and program reporting.

Family Engagement

  • Build strong, respectful relationships with families.
  • Conduct  home visits and two parent-teacher conferences per year, as well as participate in family nights.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding classroom activities, child progress, and home-learning support.

Compliance & Leadership

  • Ensure full compliance with GSRP guidelines, State of Michigan licensing rules, and school policies.
  • Lead and mentor the Associate Teacher and classroom support staff, modeling best practices in instruction and classroom management.
  • Collaborate with site leadership, community partners, and local ISD staff; attend required professional development and coaching sessions.

Qualifying Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development with a preschool teaching specialization.
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with either the Birth-Kindergarten or PreK–3rd grade endorsement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a valid Preschool CDA OR
  • Master’s degree in ECE or Child Development with a preschool teaching specialization.

Work Schedule & Requirements

  • Core Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday during GSRP operational weeks.
  • Planning & Development: Additional hours are required for lesson planning (typically Fridays), professional development, and training as indicated on the GSRP calendar.
  • Family Outreach: Flexibility is required for home visits and family conferences that may occur outside of core GSRP hours.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to supervise children actively and lift children or equipment of varying sizes as necessary.

Compensation: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
