Position: GSRP- Preschool, Lead Teacher

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at times designated
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of all students based on the GSRP educational philosophy, goals, objectives and individual student plan.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
- Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation.
- Establish and maintain standards of appropriate student behavior.
- Employ a variety of instructional strategies and media which meet the needs and capabilities of the students.
- Evaluate student performance on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Refer students with special needs to the appropriate District specialist and participate on committees related to individual student planning.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, self, equipment, materials, and facilities in order to provide an ongoing, safe classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
- Be available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when needed.
- Plan and supervise duties for teacher aides and volunteers.
- Maintain and improve competence through participation in professional training
- Attend all staff meetings.
- Perform all other duties as deemed necessary by the Superintendent or designee.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood
Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special
Education (ZS) endorsement, Birth-K, or PK-3 endorsement.
Or
A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education.
Working Schedule:
- 40 week per year position (teacher work calendar)
- 5 day working schedule, 4 days with students, 1 day prep
