    A Snapshot of Your Day

    As a GT Comb Support Operator, you will play a hands-on role in the manufacturing and repair of gas turbine combustion components. The primary purpose of this position is to operate form presses, spot welding equipment, stack and destack panels, and fabricate components for gas turbine parts. You will also operate blasting equipment and prepare and disassemble parts using hand tools, grinders, mills, and other equipment. Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment as part of the GT Combustion team, you will support manufacturing operations while following established quality and safety requirements.

    How You'll Make an Impact

    • Operate miscellaneous machines such as flow testers, spot welders, pressure testers, furnaces, and other production equipment.
    • Perform dimensional inspections and measurements using appropriate inspection equipment.
    • Empty and maintain PT lines in accordance with established procedures.
    • Operate manual machines, including mills, grit blasting equipment, and other manufacturing equipment.
    • Move products and equipment using fork trucks, cranes, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.
    • Operate air tools such as grinders and air hammers.
    • Understand the consequences of metal removal processes for future reuse of parts.
    • Properly use basic inspection tools, including micrometers, pie tape, depth gages, and other measuring equipment.
    • Perform grit blasting operations in a dusty environment while adhering to established safety procedures.

    What You Bring

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to pass an assessment demonstrating the capability to disassemble parts without damaging parent material.
    • Ability to operate manual machines, including mills, grit blasters, and other manufacturing equipment.
    • Skilled in using hand tools and air tools such as grinders and air hammers.
    • Ability to operate and maintain equipment for panel sheet preparation.
    • Ability to set up and operate spot welding equipment.
    • Ability to set up and operate material forming equipment.
    • Ability to operate and set up coordinate measuring equipment.
    • Ability to package customer-owned parts into engineered containers.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain fork truck and crane licenses.
    • Ability to use shop math, follow complex drawings, and perform complex metrology.
    • Ability to wear a respirator and pass annual respirator fit test to comply with safety requirements.
    • Ability to work the assigned schedule of Friday through Sunday, 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
