Join Process Equipment & Controls (PEC) in Covington, Georgia and help build custom, industrial-grade solutions. If you love reading blueprints, laying out materials, and laying down precise GTAW beads on carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum—this is your shop.

What you’ll do

  • Interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and shop blueprints to fabricate, fit, assemble, and weld components.
  • Execute clean, consistent TIG (GTAW) welds on multiple alloys.
  • Lay out, measure, mark, and prep materials for fabrication.
  • Coordinate priorities and workflow with the Shop Foreman.
  • Inspect your work to meet PEC quality standards and customer specs.
  • Operate grinders, saws, drill presses, ironworkers, and other fabrication tools.
  • Pitch in on stairs, handrails, platforms, structural supports, and other custom metal builds.
  • Keep your area tidy and safe; follow PEC safety practices and OSHA standards.
  • Help move materials—loading, unloading, and staging as needed.
  • Hit project timelines while maintaining craftsmanship.
  • Collaborate with teammates and lean into continuous improvement.

Bring this to the table

  • 18+ years of age; high school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • 2+ years of hands-on TIG welding and fabrication experience.
  • Blueprint reading and layout proficiency.
  • Knowledge of shop tooling, welding procedures, and safety practices.
  • Work well independently with minimal oversight.
  • Detail-obsessed with a quality mindset.
  • Comfort with measurements, fractions, and geometry.
  • Clear, professional communication.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Bonus points

  • 3+ years in industrial/structural/miscellaneous metals fabrication.
  • Experience with stainless process piping, skids, platforms, handrails, stairs, and custom assemblies.
  • Familiarity with AWS welding standards.
  • Cross-process capability: GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), FCAW (Flux Core), SMAW (Stick).
  • Leadership or shop supervisory experience.
  • AWS certifications.
