GTAW Precision Fabrication Welder

Join a high-performing manufacturing team in Chaska, MN, where precision and craftsmanship define every shift. Express is partnering with an industry leader to hire a skilled TIG (GTAW) welder who thrives on accuracy, safety, and quality. You will work with stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals to produce durable, performance-ready products.

A day in the life

You arrive for your afternoon start, review the job queue, and pull the latest blueprints. After calibrating your welding equipment, you set up for the first run, verifying material specs and joint prep. You lay down clean TIG beads on stainless and aluminum, spot weld when needed, and check each finished weld against drawings and quality criteria. Between jobs, you keep your cell organized, follow safety protocols, and coordinate with teammates to stay on pace for production targets. If demand is high, you may extend into overtime to help the team deliver.

Core responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and additional alloys
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to meet exact specifications
• Set up and calibrate welding equipment for repeatable, high-quality results
• Inspect and verify weld quality and dimensional accuracy
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
• Spot weld as projects require

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational welding training preferred
• Proven hands-on TIG (GTAW) welding experience; arc welding exposure (SMAW/FCAW) beneficial
• Ability to read and apply technical drawings and blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality workmanship
• Knowledge of welding safety standards and best practices
• Welding certification (e.g., AWS) is a plus

Schedule

• Monday - Thursday, 2:30 pm to 1:00 am; OT possible
