Responsibilities:

  • Function as the Global Trade Management (GTM) expert at the Group level within the Americas for import compliance matters.
  • Develop and maintain thorough and current knowledge of international trade laws and regulations applicable to company activities.
  • Ensure full deployment of corporate standards throughout all Business Units within the Group.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and governance of international trade policies to ensure full compliance with US and international regulations regarding import of materials, goods, and technology.
  • Introduce common processes to optimize systems to centralize data and reporting.
  • Perform value reconciliation using the GTM Master Tracker spreadsheet while considering any value adjustments needed for each site.
  • Develop and deploy compliance processes and procedures in conjunction with various functions and external resources.
  • Support the company's drawback process and procedure, including training and engagement with business operations to identify drawback opportunities.
  • Partner with businesses and various SCM and Finance team members to provide understanding of impacts related to value reconciliation adjustments and duty drawback opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with business functions and GTM network.
  • Working knowledge of import trade regulations.
  • Minimum 5 years of trade management and trade regulations experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, outstanding analytical and communication skills, team building, and customer focus.
  • Working knowledge of duty minimization programs such as drawback and valuation.
  • Familiarity with the application of rules of origin with more than one free trade agreement.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct import and/or export compliance experience.
  • Subject-matter expertise in all relevant areas of trade compliance.
  • Ability to identify areas for process improvement and assist in implementing improvements.
  • Detail-oriented with good analytical skills.
  • Strong team member, adaptable and resilient to constant changes.
  • Working knowledge regarding service capabilities of customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to all levels within the business.

Preferred Skills:

  • Data analytics experience to assess potential savings opportunities.
  • Knowledge of ERP processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel audit formulas.
  • Subject matter expert in import matters.
  • HTS & FTA knowledge.
  • Knowledge of audit and assessment procedures.
