Position Summary:
The Guest Experience Associate (GE) plays a key frontline role in creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for all Museum guests. This position supports daily operations by delivering exceptional customer service, facilitating interactive play experiences, assisting with group visits and special events, processing admissions and cafe transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of Museum spaces.

The Guest Experience Associate serves as an ambassador for the Museum by promoting exhibits, programs, memberships, and services while helping ensure each guest has a memorable and meaningful experience in a warm, inclusive, and welcoming space.

The ideal candidate is energetic, guest-focused, and passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences through play.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests in a friendly, professional manner and create a positive first and last impression.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and family-friendly environment for all guests, visitors, and team members.
  • Share accurate information about exhibits, programs, memberships, events, and Museum policies.
  • Facilitate interactive play experiences and educational activities for children and families.
  • Support field trips, birthday parties, and group visits from arrival through departure.
  • Process admissions, memberships, café, gift shop, and other retail transactions accurately.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures to support smooth daily operations.
  • Reset, organize, clean, and restock exhibit spaces and Museum floor areas throughout the day to maintain a safe, attractive, and guest-ready environment.
  • Proactively monitor guest activity and Museum spaces to help ensure guest safety, security, and compliance with Museum rules and procedures.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to accidents, incidents, emergencies, and unsafe conditions in accordance with Museum procedures.
  • Report maintenance, safety, security, or operational concerns promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to enhance guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the Museum for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as cleaning, resetting exhibits, and stocking materials.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-traffic, interactive environment with children, families, school groups, and the general public.
  • Ability to interact positively, professionally, and respectfully with guests, coworkers, and visitors while providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to remain alert to guest safety, identify potential hazards, and respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, or unsafe conditions.
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and special events as needed.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience required.
  • Cash handling and credit card processing experience preferred.
