Summary of Job Responsibilities:

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for making visitors feel welcome, assisting them with accurate information and directions, processing requests of visitors and families and /or directing to the appropriate department. Registering surgical patients.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills, ability to use computer, self-motivated, and displays a commitment to service excellence. Must have a courteous and caring demeanor and a willingness to serve others and possess excellent verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D

Experience:

  • Telephone and computer experience required. Must be able to work with people of different cultures.

Principal Job Accountabilities:

The Guest Service Associate serves as a customer service representative and promotes service excellence to everyone he/she comes in contact with.

Job Specific Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Is attentive and provides current information to each visitor/person who enters the facility and requests information.

  2. Makes each person feel welcome, is courteous and warm.

  3. Maintains an accurate list of patients and visitors.

  4. Answers incoming calls and provides information such as a patient's room number and visiting hours.

  5. Keeps an event calendar and directs visitors to meetings, seminars, and symposiums.

  6. Calls for transport services.

  7. Keeps abreast of lobby activity and contacts Protective Services for those who might require additional attention.

  8. Ensure completion of all required pre-surgical patient registration information.

  9. Responsible to keep families in the surgical waiting updated on communication from surgery. Walking patients and families to and from assigned patient rooms multiple times every shift.

  10. Maintains beepers/other related equipment in proper working order.

  11. Provides assistance to lobby traffic during drills, alarms, or disasters.

  12. Performs additional duties as assigned.
