Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:
Substitute Teachers need only to have passed the CBEST and hold a Bachelor’s degree; Demonstrated ability to work with diverse children; Ability to work effectively as a team member; Willingness to be held accountable for student results; Ability to evaluate tests and measurements of achievement; Experience with using creative teaching techniques and project-based curriculum

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Including, but not limited to the following:
1) Develop lesson plans that support project based learning
2) Address individual needs of students through long and short term planning
3) Prepare students adequately for all required assessments
4) Evaluate students' progress on a continuous basis
5) Prepare individual student achievement reports for parents
6) Provide an inviting, exciting, innovative, and challenging learning environment
7) Engage in effective and appropriate classroom management
8) Involve families in the education process
9) Work effectively with parent volunteers
10) Collaborate with other staff members to create meaningful community learning opportunities and
community-based partnerships
11) Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Head of School and school administrators.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Primarily a classroom environment. May require lifting of up to 30 lbs.
