    Description

    Responsibilities: The School Counselor serves as an integral member of the student support team and works collaboratively with faculty, administration, families, and community partners to promote student success.

    Universal Supports

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program that supports the social-emotional development of all students.
    • Provide whole-class guidance lessons and schoolwide programming focused on topics such as emotional regulation, friendship, conflict resolution, resilience, and responsible decision-making.
    • Collaborate with teachers to promote positive classroom environments and student well-being.
    • Support schoolwide initiatives that foster a safe, welcoming, and faith-filled community.

    Targeted Supports

    • Facilitate small-group counseling based on identified student needs.
    • Provide short-term individual counseling and solution-focused support.
    • Assist teachers and families in developing interventions to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns.
    • Participate in Student Assistance Team (SAT) meetings and collaborate in developing student support plans.
    • Intensive Supports
    • Collaborate with parents/guardians regarding student needs and available resources.
    • Coordinate with outside therapists, mental health providers, physicians, and community agencies when appropriate.
    • Assist families in connecting with community-based resources and services.
    • Support crisis response and consultation while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professional standards.

    This position requires strong collaboration with:

    • School administration
    • Classroom teachers
    • Student Assistance Team (SAT)
    • Parents and guardians
    • Outside mental health providers and community agencies
    • Parish and Archdiocesan support personnel as appropriate

    The successful candidate will value teamwork and recognize that supporting students is a shared responsibility among school, home, and community.
