Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating Developer

Overview / Summary

We are seeking an experienced Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating Developer with strong expertise in Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating to design, develop, and maintain rating solutions for Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Guidewire rating configuration, Gosu development, and PolicyCenter customization, along with a solid understanding of insurance rating concepts and Guidewire best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain rating algorithms, pricing logic, and rating configurations within Guidewire PolicyCenter.
  • Configure and maintain rate books, rate tables, rating factors, modifiers, territories, parameter sets, and underwriting rules.
  • Develop, customize, and enhance rating rules and routines using Gosu.
  • Collaborate with product managers, actuaries, business analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable and efficient rating solutions.
  • Enhance and support the Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating Engine, including DTO-based PC10 Rating (preferred).
  • Perform unit testing, regression testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for rating-related enhancements.
  • Analyze and resolve rating defects, configuration issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for rating logic, configurations, and rate structures.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to Guidewire development standards and best practices.
  • Support PolicyCenter configuration activities and product model enhancements using Product Designer.
  • Utilize SQL for data validation, troubleshooting, and production support.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Guidewire Rating development.
  • Strong expertise in Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating.
  • Proficiency in Gosu programming and Guidewire configuration tools.
  • Experience with:
    • Rating Engine
    • Rate Books
    • Rate Tables
    • Rate Routines
    • Rating Factors
    • Rating Modifiers
    • Territories
    • Parameter Sets
  • Strong understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance Rating concepts.
  • Experience with Guidewire Studio and the PolicyCenter data model.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of PolicyCenter Configuration, Product Model, and Product Designer.
  • Familiarity with DTO-based PC10 Rating is an added advantage.
  • 5–8+ years of relevant Guidewire development experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating development.
