Gypsum Board Installer & Level 5 Finisher

A day in this role

You roll onto the jobsite with tools in hand, review measurements, and map out each wall. You mark, measure, and cut gypsum panels to precise dimensions, then set them on wood or metal framing and fasten securely with screws or nails. Throughout the day, you keep safety protocols front and center, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Once the boards are hung, you shift into finishing mode—embedding tape, applying joint compound to seams and corners, and executing Level 5 techniques to deliver a flawless surface. You sand to a paint-ready finish, handle any necessary patches or repairs, and use the right tool for every pass—trowels, sanders, and more—to achieve a seamless result.

What you’ll handle

• Measure and cut drywall sheets accurately for exact fits.
• Install and fasten panels to wood or metal studs using screws or nails.
• Tape and finish joints and corners for a smooth, uniform surface.
• Apply joint compound and perform Level 5 finishing as needed.
• Sand surfaces to eliminate imperfections and prep for paint.
• Patch and repair drywall to blend seamlessly with existing work.
• Follow safety protocols to protect yourself, your team, and the site.
• Use finishing tools effectively, including trowels and sanders.

What you bring

• Proven experience in drywall installation and finishing, with strong Level 5 capability.
• Ability to work independently and manage time to hit milestones.
• Own set of tools, reliable transportation, and a valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift over 40 lbs and work in various positions.
