    Description

    Position
This is a permanent full-time opportunity for a Consultant Haematologist to join a progressive regional cancer service. The role offers the chance to provide high-quality haematology care within a well-supported multidisciplinary environment, while contributing to the ongoing development of cancer and blood disorder services across the region.

As a senior clinician, you will deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient haematology services, including the management of malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions. The service works closely with metropolitan tertiary centres to support chemotherapy delivery locally, shared care arrangements, and access to subspecialty expertise, enabling patients to receive much of their treatment closer to home.

You will collaborate with oncology, general medicine, pathology, emergency, inpatient and outpatient teams, as well as specialist nursing and community health services, to ensure coordinated and patient-centred care. The role also includes participation in clinical governance, quality improvement, and service planning activities, along with teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and involvement in education and outreach across the region.

Indicative Total Remuneration up to $715k+ p.a. *

    Hospital
The hospital is the largest healthcare facility in the region, providing a comprehensive range of acute and community-based services, including emergency care, general medicine, surgery, maternity, mental health, and specialist outpatient clinics.

The cancer and haematology service is supported by modern facilities, including chemotherapy delivery services, onsite pathology and diagnostic imaging, and visiting specialist support. As a key regional referral centre, the hospital plays a vital role in delivering accessible specialist care to a broad catchment population while maintaining strong links with tertiary centres in metropolitan areas.

    Location
Located in a regional city in south-eastern Australia, the area is renowned for its striking natural landmarks and scenic surroundings. Positioned within a reasonable distance from major metropolitan centres, the region offers an appealing balance of professional opportunity and lifestyle.

With a strong sense of community, quality schools, and excellent sporting and recreational facilities, the region provides a relaxed, family-friendly lifestyle surrounded by farmland, vineyards, and coastal scenery.
