The Half Graduate Assistant (.5 GA) will work 10 hours per week and receive up to 15 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 6 for fall, 6 for spring and 3 for summer.

We facilitate career readiness and connect students with employment opportunities, through partnerships with employers, faculty, staff, and alumni, to achieve a lifetime of career success.
General Statement of Duties
The Employer Engagement and Outreach Half (.5) Graduate Assistant serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 10 hours per week. The Half (.5) Graduate Assistant will report to the Associate Director of Employer Engagement & Outreach. The Employer Engagement and Outreach Half (.5) Graduate Assistant supports the Employer Engagement and Outreach team in developing and maintaining relationships with employers and alumni to enhance career opportunities for students. The position assists with employer research and outreach, maintains employer and event information within department systems, and supports the planning, coordination, and execution of career fairs, networking events, employer visits, and related programs. The Half (.5) Graduate Assistant also contributes to event promotion, career trend research, and reporting activities while providing operational and customer service support to ensure successful employer engagement initiatives and departmental events.
Core Duties:
- Assist in identifying and researching prospective employers aligned with university academic programs.
- Research contact names and email addresses for new employers.
- Serve as a note-taker during employer discussions and record notes in Career Forge, our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Enter and update employers who participate in each fair throughout the year into Career Forge, our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Assist in the creation of networking and career fair invitation lists.
- Utilize LinkedIn to identify prospective alumni participants for networking events.
- Help coordinate employer campus visits, including information tables and student club/organization meetings.
- Conduct emerging careers, industry and labor market research to support employer engagement strategy.
- Use the Handshake platform to run basic job, internships and employer reports.
- Aid the Events and Operations Coordinator with the logistics and management of departmental events such as networking events, career panels, site visits and career fairs.
- Conduct post-event surveys for students, alumni and employers.
- Support communication initiatives that promote internships and employment opportunities.
- Help promote departmental events to faculty/staff, students, and alumni through targeted email marketing.
- Support with day-of-event operations for career fairs and networking events.
- Assist with general office promotion of events, programs, and resources through online and in-person outlets such as information tabling.
- Prioritize projects and requests from inception through final delivery to meet deadlines.
- Represent the office at various campus events, workshops, and trainings.

- Currently enrolled (or accepted for enrollment) in a Bridgewater State University graduate program and in good academic standing.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Professionalism and comfort interacting with external partners.
- Experience in event management or project management.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, team-based office environment.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Comfortable utilizing a variety of technologies, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and LinkedIn.
- Experience with and commitment to issues of diversity within the college campus and the workplace.
- Requires 10 hours per week while school is in session, including some evenings and weekends; additional hours may be arranged by mutual agreement. This position is in-person only.

- The Half (.5) Graduate Assistant will be sitting at desk for most of day, standing for periods of time at events, and carrying light boxes and materials for tabling or events across campus.
