The Half Graduate Assistant (.5 GA) will work 10 hours per week and receive up to 15 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 6 for fall, 6 for spring and 3 for summer.

General Statement of Duties
The Career Services & Internships office at Bridgewater State University is seeking a Half (.5) Graduate Assistant for Marketing and Communications serving in an academic year appointment working approximately 10 hours per week and will report to the Marketing and Program Coordinator beginning September 2026. This position is ideal for a graduate student interested in marketing, communications, brand management, and program coordination within higher education. The Half (.5) Graduate Assistant will work closely with the marketing team while also overseeing the Bear Essentials professional clothing closet, ensuring students have access to professional attire for interviews, career fairs, and networking events.
As the Marketing & Communications Half (.5) Graduate Assistant, you will support the development and execution of marketing initiatives that promote Career Services programs, resources, and events. In addition, you will serve as the Bear Essentials Manager, helping oversee daily operations of the professional clothing closet and expanding student awareness of the resource. This role offers hands-on experience in digital marketing, program management, student engagement, and brand development within a higher education setting.
Supervision Received
Reports to the Marketing and Program Coordinator and is expected to receive some supervision and training by other professional staff in the office.

Assist with supervising student workers in the office as needed for various projects.
Core Duties:
Marketing Strategy & Content Development
Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns promoting Career Services & Internships programs and events.
Create engaging digital content including social media graphics, newsletters, videos, and promotional materials using Canva.
Support the development and maintenance of the Career Services & Internships brand and style guide.
Conduct research on digital marketing trends to inform outreach strategies.
Social Media & Digital Engagement
Draft, schedule, and analyze social media posts across multiple platforms.
Monitor engagement metrics and provide recommendations to improve campaign performance.
Live post during major Career Services events and programs.
Student Marketing Team Management
Serve as a resource and primary point of contact for student Marketing Coordinators, Street Team Members and Bear Essentials Closet Coordinators.
Assist with the training and development of new and existing student workers.
Assign and manage tasks and duties for student team ensuring all projects are completed in a timely and professional manner.
Provide feedback and advice to student workers on projects and professional development plans.
Bear Essentials Management
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Bear Essentials professional clothing closet.
Organize and maintain clothing inventory and donation intake.
Coordinate and promote clothing drives and outreach initiatives.
Assist in supervising undergraduate student staff supporting Bear Essentials.
Support marketing efforts to increase student awareness and utilization of the closet.
Event & Office Support
Assist with marketing and promotion of Career Services & Internships events and initiatives.
Provide operational support for office programs and special projects.
Support marketing efforts for large-scale career events and student engagement initiatives.
