Position Information

Title Half (.5) Graduate Assistant - Counselor Education Position Description

The Half Graduate Assistant (.5 GA) will work 10 hours per week and receive up to 15 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 6 for fall, 6 for spring and 3 for summer.

Description of Duties

The Graduate Assistant for the Department of Counselor Education will work 10 hours per week supporting all department faculty members with ongoing program evaluation and necessary investigations that will provide data sets that support the faculty in making program decisions. This support will include:

  • exploring relevant Internet sites
  • conducting literature reviews
  • analyzing and interpreting data
  • assist with the planning and execution of the department's annual conference
  • support the department in maintaining compliance with CACREP accreditation standards
  • contribute to any additional projects deemed appropriate by the department

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Matriculated into a counselor education program
  • Organized
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Have a working knowledge and understanding of SPSS and Nvivo statistical analysis platforms
  • Be able to work independently with initial direction from the faculty member
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have a basic familiarity with digital communication tools such as Canva and social media platforms, as well as an interest in developing skills in areas such as creating promotional materials, managing social media content, and contributing to event planning and program design.
