Title Half (.5) Graduate Assistant - Health and Kinesiology Position Description
The Half Graduate Assistant (.5 GA) will work 10 hours per week and receive up to 15 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 6 for fall, 6 for spring and 3 for summer.
Responsibilities
- Engage in department and college faculty development initiatives with the Department Chair to better understand professional development at the university and to grow as a future leader.
- Maintain and enhance a Blackboard site for Health and Kinesiology students to support retention.
- Develop content for the HK department Bridgnet site to enhance the profile of the department. The GA will need to establish good working relationships with faculty in the department and maintain ongoing communication to keep the site up to date.
- In addition, the GA will explore additional ways to use social media to enhance a more supportive graduate culture for our students; and work with UG student workers on program promotion.
- Assist department Chair Dr. Karen Richardson with the daily management of courses/programs (e.g., processing required forms, filing, data management of program and accreditation data).
- Assist with the development and management of program outcomes, assessment and, analysis of program level data to understand programmatic decision making as part of ongoing program review for both UG and G programs.
- Assist with program promotion and recruitment at UG and G level.
- Engage and support current and potential UG and Graduate students through email, phone and face to face contact.
- Participate in the STARS Research Symposium.

- Ability to lift 20-30 lbs as equipment for activity courses at times needs to be moved
