The Half Graduate Assistant (.5 GA) will work 10 hours per week and receive up to 15 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 6 for fall, 6 for spring and 3 for summer.

Overview and Duties

The Associate Dean of the School of Social Work is seeking a .5 GA to assist with various tasks related to communications, recruitment, reaccreditation support, interviews or articles for the social work newsletter and other tasks in support of the associate dean. We are seeking a self-starter who works independently with necessary guidance.

Outcomes

The .5 GA will be exposed to the lens of a unit administrator and a few of the critical roles of leadership. If a social work student, they will learn more detail about the internal workings of the program.

In addition, this GA has the opportunity to get to know faculty in the school as well as other staff and students. Depending upon their skills and interests, they may be able to provide their areas of interest/skill to some of the tasks we need to tackle. We have involved our student GAs in alumni research, which is beneficial to the students and also to the school in providing us with graduate perspectives.
