Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Cook who will be responsible for preparing and cooking various food. In this role, you will be expected to follow recipes and cooking instructions, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and ensure that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up, stock, and maintain the grill and line stations with all necessary ingredients and prep items before the shift begins.
  • Grill, fry, smoke, cook, and portion food items to recipe specifications and quality standards.
  • Cook and plate orders efficiently to ensure a smooth flow of food from the kitchen to the taproom, especially during busy weekend crowds and live music events.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team, including cross-training on other line positions (such as the pizza/oven station) and prep work as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace. Strictly adhere to local health department regulations regarding food handling, storage temperatures, and equipment sanitation.
  • Assist with opening/closing duties, including breaking down the line, cleaning kitchen equipment, washing dishes/pots when needed, sweeping/mopping floors, and handling trash disposal.
  • Communicate clearly and positively with front-of-house servers and fellow kitchen staff to resolve ticket issues quickly and keep the energy up.
 
PERFERRED MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience as a line cook, grill cook, or prep cook in a fast-paced kitchen is preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods, work comfortably in a hot kitchen environment around grills and ovens, and lift or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Strong knife skills, basic knowledge of cooking temperatures/meat safety, and the ability to multitask.
  • Dependable, punctual, and a team player. A passion for great food and the local craft beer scene is a huge plus!
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a team-first mindset.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by taproom traffic.
