Hand Therapist

Hand therapist with California advanced practice licenses in hand therapy and physical agent modalities is required, Certified Hand Therapist is preferred. The Staff Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapist II, reports to the Clinical Supervisor, Occupational Therapy and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The O.T. II works primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, although pediatric and adolescent patients may also be treated. Under general direction and upon receipt of written referrals, the Staff Therapist O.T. II plans and administers a full range of occupational therapy services for patients with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments and disabilities. Services include patient evaluations using various physical, cognitive and visual/perceptual tests and measurements, establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs, and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing occupational therapy techniques. The Staff Occupational Therapist maintains all applicable patient records related to the delivery of patient care services. While performing job duties, the Staff O.T. may also supervise support personnel including Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides as well as O.T. and O.T.A. students. The Staff O.T. actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, clinical education programs, and inservices and staff development activities.
