Title: Hands-On Facilities Manager
Compensation Range: Starting at $105,000 per year
Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8 hours per workday, ranging from 6:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., based on the needs of the business, with required availability for after-hours emergency service and/or weekend projects, including rare but possible urgent facility issues.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the operations, maintenance, and long-term care of our commercial properties. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership and management capabilities, overseeing a team of building engineers. You will ensure all building systems operate safely and efficiently, providing tenants and visitors with a well-maintained and comfortable environment.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and develop a team of 6 maintenance technicians across a portfolio of 10 buildings, setting priorities, assigning work, and driving high performance.
  • Oversee daily building operations, including preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and emergency response, with a hands-on approach as needed.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships, ensuring quality work, timely completion, and alignment with budget expectations.
  • Implement and optimize maintenance processes, SOPs, and scheduling to improve efficiency and ensure compliance.
  • Support budgeting and capital projects, including forecasting needs, managing CAPEX initiatives, and tracking performance metrics.
  • Partner with tenants and property management on communication, operations, and construction projects to deliver a high level of service.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards while promoting a culture of safety and sustainability.
Position Breakdown / Travel Requirements
  • 70% field presence (inspections, supervision, mentoring, vendor management)
  • 20% hands-on technical work and repairs
  • 10% administrative responsibilities, including office support and meetings.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in facility operations and maintenance, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or chief engineer role.
  • Strong working knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
  • Experience managing in-house engineering teams and external service providers.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, capital planning, and project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management systems (e.g., CMMS, Yardi, Prism).
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
