We've only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink's potential global impact and are looking for best-in-class engineers to help maximize Starlink's utility for communities and businesses around the globe.RESPONSIBILITIESProcess engineering position responsible for PCBA manufacturing for Starlink hardwareManage new product introduction of PCBA assemblies, qualifying new equipment, designing line layout, designing tooling, working closely with design engineers, and driving design for manufacturing (DFM) feedbackImplement, simplify, and automate high reliability manufacturing processes such that the production teams can operate independently of engineeringIdentify trends and opportunities for optimizing product output, quality enhancements, and cost of manufacturabilityDrive processes for volume production of PCBA including manufacturing execution, nonconforming product management, configuration management, traceability tracking, yield improvement, and process controlManage work instructions, process documentation, and process trainingBASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, materials science, manufacturing engineering, or other engineering discipline1+ years of professional experience in at least one of the following areas: manufacturing process engineering, surface mount technology (SMT), accelerated testing, design for reliability, or PCB design and layoutPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEHigh volume production experience (consumer goods, automotive, etc.) or ramping of a production line as part of a cross‑functional teamHands‑on experience working in SMT processes and/or related PCBA processes. Knowledge of IPC manufacturing standardsExperience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and manufacturing metrics (e.g., CPK, yield, OEE) in production environmentsDemonstrated track record in developing new processes, improving efficiencies, and successfully transferring to production in a rapidly growing, fast‑paced environmentCompetency with SQL, PythonExperience with NX or other CAD softwareExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both autonomously and as a team in a highly demanding, fast‑paced environmentADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to lift heavy objects, up to 25 lbs. unassistedWilling to work weekends and extended hours as neededCOMPENSATION & BENEFITSPay range:Hardware Engineer/ Level I: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per yearHardware Engineer/ Level II: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per yearYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long‑term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long‑term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
